Ice Jacks vs Valley Concrete Playoff Game
If I didn’t know better I’d say I was a full-time member of the Ice Jacks as I once again filled in for them in the first-round MNWAHL summer playoff game against the sharply dressed Valley Concrete. I made some nice saves, but they put 7 up on the board so that took a bit of pressure off me en route to a 7-3 victory to advance to the next round.
Valley Concrete was able to get off some high danger shots that I calmly turned away, got some help from my posts, and the Ice Jacks did a fantastic job clearing rebounds and covering guys in front of the net.
Late in the game, I made a windmill save that had me go into a full split off a cross-ice pass. It was the kind of save that looks amazing on a hockey card, or as the basketball-playing kids would say, could be posterized. I say skip the poster and go full-on Fat Head for the wall. It was one of those saves where the shooter just laughs and skates away.
