To kick off the 2021 podcasting year episode 19 of Tendy Talk features Matt Schnoes of the Goal Crease Guardian Instagram account. Despite being a Detroit Red Wings fan, Matt was a fun guy to talk to and get to know better. I’ve followed him on Instagram for a while, and have enjoyed watching his game recap videos. They very much remind me of the game highlight videos I share on YouTube (when I get a chance to skate these days), except he is better at stopping the puck than I am. In this episode, we talked about how he got into goaltending, his experience with junior hockey, playing club hockey in college at a school that had both club and NCAA D3 teams, and the challenges of playing on differing rink sizes and how that can impact your game as a goalie.
