When my whole team looked at the schedule we saw we’d be playing the top team in our division who had a +13 goal differential after three games heading into our matchup. I think most of the guys thought it would be another double-digit loss after the start we’ve had. I have to hand it to the fellas that they elevated their play and played a little harder, but we were outmatched. I felt good, making some big saves, directing rebounds out of harm’s way, and even ventured out of the net some to play the puck. I did miss play the first goal, opening up on a close net drive, but in the end, that mistake wouldn’t matter as we fell 5-0. Despite the score, the Stop It Goaltending Game Day app says my Expected Goals Against over Goals Against was only a 0.36 – pretty much saying I stopped what I should have.
