Ice Jacks vs Kreme Da La Kremlin – Playoffs

In the semifinals of the fall MNWAHL season, we had a rematch with the Kreme Da La Kremlin, the team that beat us 6-2 in the final regular-season game. The boys came out flying, played solid defense, and I had my best game of the season leading to a 6-2 victory and a trip to the fall championship game.

I could sense the fellas were ready to have a good game when three guys filed into the locker room right after me – an hour before the game. I usually sit alone in the locker room until about 20 minutes before game time. We had a full team, and we wanted some revenge after losing that last game of the regular season. The boys game outshooting and dominated puck possession. I faced 29 shots in the game, but the defense did a great job of clearing the lanes so that I got good looks at all the shots, and even more important were on top of any rebound. It feels like we’re getting stronger with each round of the playoffs. Here is hoping the trend continues next week in the finals against a team we combined for 18 goals in one game with.
