Hosers vs. MN Freeze
After a tough season opener to kick off the MNWAHL Fall season, I feel like we bounced back a bit this week. We didn’t end up in the loss column, but we didn’t find the win column either. The game started off with us outworking the MN Freeze and me feeling quite relaxed. I was in control of my movements, seeing the puck well. I was battling rebounds some, but my defense was on the spot clearing the puck or tying their guys up. The MN Freeze didn’t score their first goal until the second period off a weird tip-redirection that went bar down.
Of the goals scored, three were through screens that either had me leaning the wrong way or I just didn’t see them. Then there was one goal where I just said, “Wow!” as it was a bad angle shot with me sealing the post, or so I thought, and he snuck it in a hole about the size of the puck.
The other goalie played a solid game too, probably preventing his team from losing. They only had two extra guys on the bench compared to our two full lines. After the game, there was some mutual appreciation for each other’s games.
