Hosers vs Heart Attacks
The 2022 MNWAHL Fall season struggles continue. In a game that pitted us against another team hanging around the bottom of the standings meaning we should have had a chance to find our first win of the season we only had seven skaters show up thanks to it being hunting season in Minnesota. That number dwindled to only five skaters after the second period when two players had an argument about playing time resulting in one leaving the ice, and another deeming he couldn’t continue to play due to an injury.
We ended up losing 6-2. The first goal is one I had up until the last two feet when it was tipped over my glove by my defenseman. Not much you can do there. The other goals weren’t bad goals, one was a 2-on-1, and the rest were just snipes. If anything I was a tad slower in this game, I don’t know.
The drama of the argument on the bench that lead to one player leaving kind of soured the game. To make matters worse we couldn’t even muster up enough skaters to play this last weekend, again due to hunting season.
We have one game left in the regular season. Let’s see if we can find that elusive W.
