Birthday Win vs Ole Piper Chiefs
With a game scheduled early on my birthday (6:00 p.m. puck drop) I knew I wanted to get the win. We were playing the Ole Piper Chiefs, a team we pair up nicely against, and can usually beat if we have a deep bench. We wound up having just over two full lines so I knew we had a chance. I played one of my better games, stopping 18 or 20 shots and registering an expected G.A.A. vs G.A.A. of -0.21, meaning I allowed about as many goals as expected. The first goal was a knuckle puck through a screen I would like to have back, but we got the win on my birthday, and there were beers in the lockerroom post game!
