Sentinels vs. Ice Zombies
The last regular season game of the summer session pitted us, the first-place team, against the last-place team with the game having no impact on the standings. Additionally, our opponent, the Ice Zombies, needed a goalie so their captain who doesn’t play goalie strapped on the pads. Everyone knew who would win and lose this game before the puck dropped.
We were outshot in this game 45-40, but we won 14-3. The Ice Zombies fill-in goalie played well, stopping 26 shots, and telling us not to let up because he knew we were gearing up for the playoffs.
The Ice Zombies played well, peppering me with 45 quality shots. The Stop It Goaltending Game Day app says I should have allowed just over 6 goals in the game.
As we head into the playoffs we need to tighten up our defense, and create more quality scoring chances.
