When I looked at the 2022 MNWAHL Winter season calendar I was looking forward to this week because I’d be playing my buddy (and past Tendy Talk guest) Shawn Himmelberger, but it turns out Shawn had a sub playing for him this week because he and his family were on a spring break road trip.
After only having six skaters last week, the entire team – three full lines, showed up for this week’s game. I was busy in the first period facing 19 shots – stopping all of them, but the Generals managed to get 4 past me in the last two periods of the game. Despite a full bench we only score three goals – one of which I got the assist on after making a tape-to-tape breakout pass through two defenders.
