Sota Stick Hockey Classic – Bill’s Toggery vs. Jesse Bentrup Farmers Insurance
Game 2 of the inaugural SotaStick Hockey Classic saw Team Toggery square off against Team Bentrup about 90 minutes after the first game concluded. The games were so close to each other that most of us didn’t even take all our equipment off between games. Tournament organizers made sure we were hydrated between games by delivering a case of beer to each locker room after the first games. I may have secured two cans of liquid instead of the one we were instructed to take.
Team Toggery again came out of the gates flying for game two, putting a few goals on the board early, and taking the pressure off of me. I didn’t play as well as I did in game one but played well enough for Team Toggery to take home the W and improve to 2-0 in pool play. I also switched from my Hasek-style helmet back to my regular – more protective – mask.
While Team Toggery has only played two games together, we seem to have jelled as if we were a beer league team
