Ice Jacks vs Clam Corporation
Back to filling in for the Ice Jacks in a summer MNWAHL game against Clam Corporation. It wasn’t my best performance, as I let a few bad bounces get in my head. I let the team down. That being said, the goalie at the other end played out of his mind and deserved to win as Clam Corporation came out on top 5-2. At least the boys had beer in the locker room post-game to ease the pain.
It’s always a bad feeling when you fill in for a team, then play poorly. I’ve skated with the Ice Jacks enough that they know this isn’t my typical level of play, and they were very supportive post-game, telling me to shake it off. They also reminded me that it was just a regular-season game, and they don’t count for much other than playoff positioning. Either way, I need to shake this game off and put it behind me. We’re all bound to have a bad game every now and then where it just seems the puck isn’t bouncing our way.
