Hosers vs Caels Angels

The Hosers found the win column for the first time in the 2020 MNWAHL Winter season this weekend. A fast start helped the team, as our opponent, Caels Angels, mounted a strong finish to win the game 6-4.

I felt locked in on the puck all game, and was comfortable in net. We got a few lucky bounces too from a puck hitting the net, some staying under me, and a defenseman making a smart play to keep the puck out. It felt good to get a win. There was even one bad angle shot that some thought went in, but it hit the post and play continued long enough for me to make a butterfly save that saw the rebound pop-up in front of me so I snagged it with my glove.

When the final horn sounded I stopped 29 of the 33 shots I faced, even making one of my routine split saves on a breakaway.

I do not know why, but it feels good beating Caels Angels. They are not a dirty team, or one with a bunch of jerks, but at times it feels like they are either playing a division down, or trying too hard for D-league beer league hockey.
