Hosers vs 2050 Vision

After taking a week off due to COVID, I returned to the ice for week four of the MNWAHL Winter Season. In my absence, the fellas squeaked out a 2-2 tie. While I felt good heading to the game and early on fatigue quickly settled in. I noticed that once fatigue settled in I was getting lower in my crouch, putting more stress on my legs. I still stopped 30 shots in the game, but I did let in six in a 6-6 tie. My rebound control was careless, resulting in two goals.

Last week I spoke with Pete Fry, the Goalie Mindset Guy for my Tendy Talk podcast. During the conversation, Pete challenged me to not look at the clock during my next game. He said I’d probably notice that the game seemed to go by quicker. I accepted the challenge and fought the urge to look at the clock during the game. It helped that the clock was on the wall behind me, and not at the other end of the rink. I only looked up at the clock once, and that was late in the game when we were down one goal as I wanted to get an idea when I should be looking at the bench for a possible extra attacker. The game did seem to go by a bit quicker, but I didn’t like not knowing the time. I may try this one or two more times though before giving my final thoughts.
