Beer League Beer Review | Miracle on Ice
My team does not charge me to play, so when I bring beer I try to bring something a little higher-end than the mass-produced domestic light beers the guys typically bring. Since the Olympics are going on in Beijing right now I thought Miracle On Ice Golden Ale brewed locally by Lift Bridge Brewery was the obvious beer to bring this week.
Miracle On Ice Golden Ale is brewed by a few breweries in Minnesota and New York with proceeds going to help local charities like the Herb Brooks Foundation and Children’s Cancer Research Fund. The beer is a bit more expensive than others, but the charity aspect of it makes it well worth the price.
As far as the beer goes, it has a mix of a citrusy yet biscuit-like taste with the slightest hoppy bitterness that isn’t overpowering, rather a nice accent. Yea, that made me sound like a Hipster ordering a beer.
My teammates seemed to enjoy the beer too as I only had three cans to bring home. Several asked who made it, and where they can get it. While I think they’d all appreciate me bringing Miracle On Ice whenever I bring beer, that’s just not going to happen with the price of it. Great beer, but pricy.
